Terms of Use

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of getpeace.in and the services we provide through it (together, "GetPeace"). By sending us a request or otherwise using GetPeace, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use GetPeace.

2. What GetPeace is, and what it isn't

GetPeace is a support and referral service. You tell us what's taking your peace away, in writing or as a voice note. Our team reviews it, gets in touch using the contact details you gave, and suggests a next step. That might be a free self-help resource, a support group, or a verified professional or service ("Partner").

GetPeace does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial or debt advice, diagnosis or treatment. Nothing we say is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Our team members are not acting as your doctor, therapist, lawyer or financial adviser.

3. Who can use GetPeace

• You must be 18 or older.
• GetPeace is designed for people in India. You may use it from elsewhere, but our recommendations and Partners are mostly India-based.
• You must give us a mobile number or email address that belongs to you, or that you're allowed to use, and that you're comfortable being contacted on.

4. How it works

• Sending a request doesn't guarantee a particular outcome, recommendation or response time. "Usually within a day" is our aim, not a promise.
• We may not be able to help with every request. If we can't, we'll try to point you to a free or public resource.
• We may check in with you later to see how things are going. You can tell us to stop at any time.
• If what you share suggests a risk to your life or someone else's, we'll share crisis resources and may try to reach you sooner.

5. Partners

We try to recommend only Partners we've checked, such as registered psychologists, registered doctors and transparent debt-resolution firms. However:

• Partners are independent. They are not employed by GetPeace, and they are responsible for the services they provide to you.
• Whether to use a Partner is always your choice. Their own terms, privacy policies and fees apply, and we'll tell you the price upfront when we know it.
• GetPeace may receive a fee from some Partners when you use their service. We'll always tell you when that's the case. It never changes what you pay the Partner.
• We never recommend loans or credit products to people seeking help with debt.

6. Fees

Using GetPeace is free for you. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you clearly before you're charged anything.

7. Using GetPeace responsibly

When you use GetPeace, please don't:

• give false contact details or someone else's details without their permission;
• pretend to be someone else, or send requests on someone's behalf without their knowledge;
• send content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, or meant to deceive us;
• use bots or automated tools to send requests, try to overload or break the service, or try to access data that isn't yours;
• be abusive to our team or to Partners.

We may ignore, delete or stop responding to requests that break these rules.

8. What you share with us

You own what you share with us. You give GetPeace permission to store, listen to, read and use it only as needed to respond to you, recommend help, follow up, keep people safe, and improve the service in de-identified form, as described in our Privacy Policy. With your OK, we may share relevant parts with a Partner you choose to go ahead with.

9. Our content

The GetPeace name, logo, website design and content belong to GetPeace. You may use the website for your own personal, non-commercial use, but please don't copy, sell or reuse it without our permission.

10. Disclaimers

GetPeace is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to give useful, safe recommendations, but we can't guarantee that any resource or Partner will be right for you, or that the service will always be available or error-free. You're responsible for decisions you make about your own health, finances, relationships and safety.

11. Limits on our liability

To the extent allowed by law, GetPeace is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from services provided by Partners. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including your rights as a consumer.

12. Ending things

You can stop using GetPeace at any time and ask us to delete your data by emailing yo@getpeace.in, as explained in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or stop providing GetPeace, or stop responding to a particular person, if these Terms are broken or if we need to for safety or legal reasons.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as GetPeace grows. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know before they apply to you.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
